Who are Friends of Southern Sailing?

Friends of Southern sailing are sailors, parents, friends, and supporters of the sport of sailing. Friends of Southern Sailing became incorporated Aug. 30. 2001, in New Jersey as a not-for-profit foundation. It has provided support to the Southern Regional High School Sailing Team and the Southern Regional Middle School Sailing Club since its formation.

 

Why is Friends of Southern Sailing important?
Friends of Southern Sailing helps aid, encourage, support, and enhance the education of the high school team and middle school club members. Without the financial support from Friends of Southern Sailing, the scope and success of training and performance of sailors would be significantly reduced.

 

What has Friends of Southern Sailing done?

Friends of Southern Sailing has provided sailboats, sails and rigging for the practice boats as well as power boats for coaching. In addition, over the years money has been supplied for travel, equipment, assistant coaching, and other sailing supplies.

 

How can you help Friends of Southern Sailing?

Friends of Southern Sailing is reaching out to the community for financial support for the Southern Sailing team. Over the past two years, the team caliber has improved and there is opportunity to participate in elite regattas based on their performance at qualifying races. These regattas are out of state from as far north as Rhode Island and south to North Carolina. There is a need to cover additional expenses that has incurred due to the hard work and success of the sailing team.
